this whole prom shopping thing is a joke.

firstly, my savings were initially planned well for each purchase which i thought i wouldn't need my mum to pay and with a substantial amount left.

then my mum decided to freeze all transactions from her wallet to the shopping fund.

so in the end i have to pay for everything.

yes, everything.

even the damn $125 contact lenses.

whose parents force their children to buy everything themselves? give me a shout.

then today the guys were supposed to go out and buy our stuff.

turns out everyone has already bought something, or like ziluo, everything.

and im the only one who needs to buy almost everything, except the jacket, since i already have one.

ah yes, having a jacket is a good thing. money is already saved. imagine if i had to buy one - you would find me working at hugo boss or ermenegildo zegna to pay off the debt.

but no, i still have to pay.

u know why?

'cause my jacket is 4 years old and needs altering to fit.

awesome!

65 dollars pls.

yup so in the end it was like the guys following me around to get my pants and shirt. pretty lame. but at least i got everything within an hour or so.

let me tell u abt my pants-shopping experience.

i was at g2000 and the racks which had the pants had these signs with the big words 30% off.

so naturally i thought the pants were on offer. so a discount on a $63 pair of pants is not bad a deal.

yup so i went to the counter.

'that'll be $63 sir.'

huh, but isn't there a 30% discount?

'sorry sir, those are for the shirts.'

shirts?! wtf they're only on one side of the rack where all the pants are and u tell me they're for shirts? couldnt u just put those shirts together with the rest of the shirts and put the sign there properly?

u might as well hang a big sign outside saying 'clearance sales' and tell me it only applies to the mannequins.

then obviously i need to alter my pants.

so this chap comes along.

he's prc.

i think i don't need to say further.

i think we need to put a stop to this chinese invasion. yeah i know im chinese but this has nothing to do with race.

i mean, everywhere i go i see chinese ppl in the service line.

restaurants - non-chinese, in fact. cafe cartel is an excellent example, but not like i like to eat there so tt doesn't concern me but other places are hit as well. i mean, when i want to have western food, i wish to feel like im in a western environment, not some waiter who comes up to me and speaks mandarin or broken english. i want my steak medium done, not well done. get ur english right damn it.

minds cafe - this definitely takes the cake. all the bloody board games are in english and the assistants come around teaching us in mandarin or again uncomprehensible english. oh the best one is when we ask them how to play the game, and they tell us,

'sorry im not sure.'

damn it then why are u working there in the first place?

does the cheeseburger contain beef?

'sorry let me check for u.'

seriously man. i know firms want the lowest costs of production possible, but if that compromises the quality, especially in the service line, then why bother losing customers?

prices can go down anytime. bad impressions last a lifetime.

wait, i haven't told u the best part.

my parents hired a prc at their company.

so much for my cynicism.

sorry back on topic.

yeah so many rj ppl went to zara, i wont be surprised if someone wears the same shirt as me. i was quite tempted to like station myself outside the shop and check their purchases.

"oh u got the same shirt as me! sorry, got another one pls. thanks."

everywhere we walked we saw rj ppl, some with bags, some empty handed.

yeah so after shopping im left with 10 dollars.

yep, 1 year's of savings spent on one night.

my god.

you know how long it'll take me to get a pair of shades?

prom's nxt wed damn it.

and i want to buy alcohol too.

i think it's time to fast.
