i've been working.
it's a great experience.
normal office job but a pretty slack environment - actually it's so relaxed that i don't even want to slack, instead im more motivated to be an efficient employee.
so motivated tt i didn't even go for my lunch break today. okay not like anyone else ate as well.
i think my company is damn cosmopolitan - taiwanese as bosses, singaporean-taiwanese as bosses' son, singaporean, prcs and singaporean-filippino as colleagues. so i have to keep switching tongues when i talk with them. mandarin now, english the next minute.
im not saying anything abt the prcs because they're nice ppl. v rare indeed.
anw the past 2 days i was helping to update the student roster and i saw one or two interesting names.
like a boy named disney - like who the hell names their kid disney?
'disney, bring pluto out for a walk. later uncle looney is coming.'
and another who's named oh sun and his chinese name is ou ming ri - get it?
and another child called pia - prob kena slapped a lot of times.
ok enough abt laughing at names.
tdy is a better topic.
was supposed to have dinner with 4i at fish n co glass house by 8. well we did, eventually.
yes, eventually.
they went there at 7.20 to find seats but the place was full so henri left his name and contact no. i met them at plaza sing and we walked aimlessly around carrefour.
8pm. we tried swensons and manhattan fish market. full as well with pretty long queues. no diff.
so we walked back to glass house and wait.
they told us we could go in in 10-15 mins.
no prob.
we waited.
and waited.
and waited.
finally we went in.
wait, if we go in to get a seat, how come no one came out?
ah.
yes, we went to get a seat.
at the sofa.
10 of us hungry souls waiting for more than an hr to get a seat.
and the best thing was there were 2 groups of ppl who had already finished eating but decided to warm their butts a bit longer.
a bit.
u know, the typical fucked-up singaporeans.
8.45, and henri was getting ready to see the manager, sleeves rolled-up.
finally one of the groups' butts got too hot and they couldn't take it anymore.
9pm, we finally got our seats.
being quick-decision men, we made our orders as soon as we came.
william's spaghetti came first, and soon later zhikai's salmon.
by the time the fish and chips came they had finished their food.
oh may i add that we had to request to be served water?
okay the fish and chips are here - 7 plates.
wait, where's my swordfish?
it came only 10mins after their fish and chips.
okay 10mins may not sound long to u, but mind u that i had been waiting for one and a half hrs for a fucking table and would expect to be served almost immediately.
what a letdown seriously.
and i was expecting it to be good since it looked really big, but then with tt stupid knife of theirs i could only manage digging through the bones for meat with my fingers like i was eating a chicken thigh at kfc.
and they took down the l-o-v-e sign alr wth!
cherry garcia..
