i was busy playing actually but then i keep getting bugged by msn windows and stupid checkpoint saves which i fail to reach so i decided to blog abt sth q impt.
sth tt is affecting me q badly.
u see a new receptionist joined the company, coz my colleague has gone back to the philippines.
when u think of receptionists u think of nice-looking young ladies at the counter.
this woman, however, is prob approaching her fifties.
if i walk into the entrance, i would think im at a pawnshop or laundromat, or a black magic fortune teller.
alright im not tt superficial. i have no problems with hiring older people.
after all the govt encourages us to be lifelong learners.
okay.
but this lady still is a problem because she just wont shut up.
she keeps talking and talking, so animatedly as if we're interested at all.
let me give u an example of a topic:
does ur company have team meetings? i think we should have. i've undergone service training and i think it's v important blah blah blah.like wth, we're just an enrichment centre for crying out loud, not a multi-million dollar corporation.
and we only have like 6, 7 people. need to bond what?
nvm, another topic.
my colleague actually said that going to work was like fighting a war because it's so hectic teaching non-stop.
then this lady chips in by saying
no no we must not have wars internally.
obviously she din get what my colleague was saying
more problems.
receptionists need to be well versed in the english language, and mandarin for my place.
this woman can't even string together a grammatically-correct sentence when speaking to my boss.
i dun even want to hear what she says on the phone.
all i know is that every time she answers a call, the busy light is on for damn bloody long.
in other words, she keeps beating around the bush yet she's not familiar with the courses available yet
luckily im inside the office minding my own business.
oh oh.
ytd she asked what time does she knock off and was obviously in a rush to leave.
alrite if u have sth urgent, fine. we all do.
but no.
u know me, i cannot stay overtime.the first sentence alr raised my eyebrows, but she couldnt see because i was busy looking at my computer.
i need to go home and do the housework.laugh pls.
you know what was the time?
5.30.
no one leaves before 6 at my place.
then impatient of waiting for my supervisor to end her class she just left.
on my first day at work i din even dare to ask to leave coz i see everyone so busy with work i would feel guilty. i only left when my supervisor said i could.
sometimes she reminds me of some guy who used to be from our class.
new to the place yet so full of air and cant keep the damn mouth shut.
im so sorry.
but because of tt, i have to treat her like how i treat him. im sry but respecting ur elders doesnt rly matter now. i dun initiate conversations with her so tt my ears can live in peace, and when she talks to me i just give a short answer or pretend to laugh along depending on the situation.
it's not just me.
my colleagues can't stand her as well. everytime she's stopped her jabbering and left the room all of us will break into snickers.
i don't know abt my superiors though.
it's ironic tt when u scroll up again and read about what she said abt internal wars, im thinking tt she's the one going to cause it soon.
i miss my ex-colleague. she's rly one damn good receptionist.
she's so bloody good that when parents call up they just ask to talk to her, not to complain of course.
katherine come back! :(
cherry garcia..
