i don't like to wait.

esp when im in a rush to go somewhere else.

even more so when im hungry.

have u heard tt a hungry man is an angry man?

now queues and jams happen for a reason.

there're 2 reasons for traffic jams.

one is the unfortunate accident.

the other is due to a bloody tortoise driver who doesn't know how to step on the pedal, or is busy looking at the accident scene on the other side of the highway.

because of him, the rest of the cars have to slow down behind, and somehow the drivers also join the tortoise as audience.

this is an expressway, not seconds from disaster.

now put the mentality of these idiots into the context of a queue at a fast food restaurant.

i say again, fast food.

the bloody queue is 6 heads long.

a queue forms at a fast food rest because 1) employees are inefficient 2) customers take a long time to order at the counter.

okay maybe the first person is new to mos burger, so he needs a little more time.

but surely everyone else isnt a noob.

u dun stand in line with no idea of what to eat.

actually u can.

provided u follow the number one golden rule.

u think of what u want to eat while queuing.

since the newbie in front is taking some time, why not look at the menu right in front of u and decide what u want to order.

then when it's ur turn u can just recite ur order like the alphabet.

fast and efficient.

but no, singaporeans are selfish and dumb.

when queuing, customers use their phones, listen to their ipods or talk to their friends.

then when it's their turn they seem to forget there're more ppl waiting behind them.

>> eh what u want ah?

>> i dunno whether to get teriyaki chicken or the fish one. u leh?

>> the beef one lor. but now the prawn one got promotion sia. how ah?

what.the.fuck.

u had at least 5min before to consider and now u're working on ur dilemma.

hey, why not ask about the ingredients used for each burger so that u can make an informed decision.

finally the counter settles this customer(s) and proceeds with the next.

>> any upsize for u?

>> how much.. ok let me think ah.

begin slow mental calculation and perhaps a bit of cba involved.

every single customer ahead of me took at least 5min to have their order taken.

btw the queue of 6 heads actually diverges to 2 counters.

yet the efficiency is as good as telling a bangla to take down a chinese order from a mainland chinese in mandarin.

should counter staff have the right to chase undecided customers away?

>> sorry sir but ur holding back the queue. if u still dunno what u want to order pls step aside and think abt it so tt the nxt customer can order. thank you!

here's the same request, but without the forced courtesy which, of course, is more natural and definitely sends the message across.

>> stop wasting my fucking time! gtfo and come back when u know what u want to order! NEXT PLEASE!

my turn came and i was done in 3.

although the next problem is waiting for ur food to be prepared. the food queue gets compounded with each delay in the ordering time at the counter.

i do not wish to comment on the waiting time for a burger and fries.

now srsly, there's a reason why ppl takeaway.

if dine-in customers have the privilege of sitting in and waiting, why can't u settle the takeaway ones first?

esp when the order is so freakin small.

efficiency and some common sense, singapore!
